Othello

Dirigido por Oliver Parker o filme Othello é baseado na tragédia Othello, o Mouro de Veneza de Willian Shakespeare, e tem como personagens principais o general Othello, sua esposa Desdêmona, e o maquiavélico Iago.  

Othello é um homem de origem humilde, que devido a sua força e garra acaba tornando-se general mouro em Veneza, e promove Cássio, um jovem soldado ao posto de tenente, e tal atitude desperta a ira em Iago, pois ele se considerava merecedor da promoção, e por isso planeja uma cruel vingança para destruir o mouro, haja vista que é um homem extremamente inteligente, mas com ausência total de caráter. Grande observador percebe o incontrolável ciúme que o mouro tem da bela e doce Desdêmona, diante disso começa a arquitetar seu plano, que tem conseqüências irreparáveis na vida de todos, inclusive a sua.  

Muitos são os temas abordados no filme e que podem ser trabalhos em sala de aula, como ética e comportamento, mas particularmente acredito que a mais importante é desenvolver a prática da leitura em nossos alunos, pois não basta apenas assistir ao filme, é importante que seja feita leitura da obra de Shakespeare antes. Nos meus tempos de graduação encenei “Othello” em uma apresentação no papel de Iago, e digo que foi um deleite ter o privilégio me aprofundar nas obras desse grande dramaturgo e poeta inglês, e os temas relatados em suas obras continuam atuais, e sendo representadas seja no teatro ou cinema de todo o mundo, nos fazendo conhecer melhor a natureza humana.Muitos consideram Dom Casmurro, de Machado de Assis a versão brasileria de Othello, a história de Capitu é até hoje uma das mais lidas em nossas escolas.

O filme marca a estréia de Oliver Parker na direção, e tem no elenco Laurence Fishburne no papel título e Kenneth Branagh (em excelente atuação) na pele do antagonista Iago. Existem várias versões cinematográficas de Othello, mas irei destacar duas: a primeira de 1965 com Laurence Olivier interpretando o Mouro de Veneza, e “O”de 2001, que no Brasil recebeu o título de “Jogo de Intrigas”, e tem no elenco o jovem galã Josh Hartnett (de Pearl Harbor) e a talentosa Julia Stiles (atualmente no elenco da cultuada série Dexter), mas que já participou de outras duas versões cinematográficas inspiradas nas obras de Shakespeare: 10 Coisas que odeio em você e Hamlet.

Encantadora de Baleias (Whale Rider)

O belíssimo filme neozelandês “ Encantadora de baleias” nos apresenta a história da pequena “Pai”, uma menina de somente 11 anos que perdeu o irmão gêmeo e a mãe ao nascer, foi abandonada pelo pai e acaba sendo criada pelo avô chefe da tribo dos maoris e que é descendente de um Semi Deus que havia cruzado o mar nas costas de uma baleia. Segundo a tradição local o sucessor do velho Kaori deve ser um de seus descendentes diretos e  homem para prosseguir perpetuando os costumes e as tradições dos maoris, mas seu filho havia abandonada a tribo e seu neto falecido, sua única família é sua neta, mas ele nem considera a possibilidade de passar a liderança da tribo para a menina, simplesmente por ela ser mulher.

“Pai” ama o avô e  respeita as tradições, então no intuito de manter sua cultura viva  começa a aprender, escondido de Kaori,  tudo o que um líder maori deve saber, conhecimentos que apenas homens tinham acesso. Ao mesmo tempo o velho líder procura um substituto entre os jovens da tribo, mas é claro que em determinada parte seu avô descobre seu plano e ela terá que provar sua capacidade.

Acredito que ao ser assistido por educadores e educandos uma das principais discussões que o filme promove é o processo de aculturação promovido por nosso mundo globalizado, pois quando perdemos nossas referências culturais acabamos perdendo também nossa história, e mesmo pensando e agindo de formas diferentes,  avô e neta tem a mesma intenção: manter vivos os costumes, a tradição e a cultura de seu povo.

Outro ponto importante a ser levado em consideração é o papel da mulher na sociedade, a jovem “Pai” percebeu logo cedo que seria capaz de aprender os ofícios e ter a mesma responsabilidade de um homem em sua tribo, e em nossa sociedade contemporânea a mulher vem se destacando em todas as áreas, provando ter capacidade para liderar não somente suas casas, mas também empresas e nações.

Além das lindas imagens, o filme nos apresenta o talento da jovem Keisha Castle-Hughes, que por sua excelente atuação foi indicada ao Oscar de Melhor atriz, o filme também venceu a 27ª Mostra Internacional de Cinema de São Paulo.

The beautiful New Zealand film "Whale Rider" presents the story of little "Father," a girl of only 11 years who lost his twin brother and mother at birth, was abandoned by his father and grandfather has just been created by the chief of the tribe of Maori and the scion of a semi-God who had crossed the sea on the back of a whale. According to local tradition, the successor to the old Kaori must be direct descendants of a man and continue to perpetuate the customs and traditions of the Maori, but his son had abandoned the tribe and his grandson died, his only family is his granddaughter, but he nor does it consider the possibility of passing the leadership of the tribe for the girl, simply because she is woman.  

"Pai" Grandpa loves and respects the traditions, so in order to keep their culture alive begins to learn, hidden from Kaori, everything a leader should know Maori knowledge that only men had access. At the same time the old leader looking for a substitute among the youth of the tribe, but of course in a certain part his grandfather discovers his plan and she will have to prove their ability.  

I believe that to be assisted by teachers and students one of the main discussions that the film promotes the process of acculturation is promoted by our globalized world, because when we lost our cultural references also losing our history, and even thinking and acting differently, grandfather and granddaughter has the same intent: to maintain the customs, tradition and culture of its people live.  

Another important point to be considered is the role of women in society, the young "Pai" realized early on that he could learn trades and have the same responsibility that a man in his tribe, and in our contemporary society women has been outstanding in all areas, proving to be able to lead not only their homes but also businesses and nations.

Besides the pretty pictures, the film presents us with the talent of young Keisha Castle-Hughes, who by his excellent performance earned an Oscar nomination for Best Actress, the film also won the 27th International Film Festival of Sao Paulo.

Meu mestre minha vida (Lean on Me)

O filme tem início na década de 1960, onde o professor Clark  muito carismático tem uma relação extremamente próxima e produtiva com seus alunos, mas por não concordar com algumas normas da escola e discutir com a equipe acaba indo embora. Após isso o filme dá um salto de 20 anos, a mesma escola está bem diferente: alunos violentos que inclusive agridem fisicamente os professores, traficam drogas entre si, um verdadeiro caos. O mesmo professor, agora mais maduro e experiente parece ser o único que pode reverter a situação e é designado diretor da escolae ao chegar demonstra uma postura extremamente inflexível chegando ao ponto de humilhar sua equipe, deixando bem claro que ninguém além dele fala em "suas reuniões". A relação orgânica com as equipes pedagógicas e administrativas é autoritária, poucos tem acesso a ele, que de certa forma se posiciona de forma superior diante de todos, decidindo sozinho como  e quais ações serão realizadas.O envolvimento com a  comunidade é de medo, ele quer manter distância.
Mesmo tendo boa parte da história ambientada na década de 1980  é um filme atual, sendo um belo exemplo da grave situação em que muitas escolas se encontram atualmente, e dos desafios que diretores, professores e todos os envolvidos no processo ensino-aprendizagem  enfrentam, e que vão além da sala de aula.
 "Meu mestre minha vida" é um filme que deve ser assistido também pelos profissionais da educação que ainda não são gestores, que muitas vezes criticam seus superiores sem conhecimento de causa, colocando-se somente na posiçao de  vítimas em algumas situações em que acreditam sãp prejudicados,  pois evidencia as muitas dificuldades e cobranças do cargo.
Não estou aqui defendendo a postura autoritária do diretor Clark, pelo contrário, acredito que  o processo de gestão acontece de dentro para fora, para ser uma autoridade não é necessário ser autoritário, para obter bons resultados um gestor deve conquistar aliados, trazer a comunidade para dentro da escola, trabalhar em parceiria com todos os membros da comunidade escolar, mas existem regras, leis que devem ser cumpridas e é importante que todos saibam disso, diante disto a gestão deve ser  transparente e acessivel, sem deixar de ser responsável, lembrando que lidar com relações humanas é uma arte, e essa sem dúvida é uma das muitas tarefas, e talvez a mais difícil de um gestor da atualidade.É interessante também que os alunos e pais de alunos assistam ao filme  haja vista que foi inspirado em fatos reais, ou seja, muitas situações narradas na história ocorrem diariamente em nossas escolas. 
O filme foi dirigido por John G. Avildson, o mesmo de Karate Kid e Rocky, dois grandes sucessos de bilheteria. Morgam Freeman,  sempre competente e carismático é o astro do filme, dando veracidade ao personagem.  Lean on me é o título original do filme, mas também é o nome de uma música gospel que é cantada em uma das cenas, o que evidencia muito do apelo religioso presente no filme, como se o diretor Clark tivesse sido enviado por Deus para salvar a todos.

 "My master my life" is a film that should also be assisted by education professionals who are not managers, who often criticize their superiors without knowingly putting themselves in the position of victims only in some situations they believe sap harmed, because it shows the many difficulties and demands of the job.
I'm not here defending the authoritarian stance of director Clark, by contrast, believe that the process of management happens from the inside out, to be an authority need not be authoritarian, to get good results a manager should win allies, to bring the community within the school, working in partnership with all members of the school community, but there are rules and laws that must be met and it is important that everyone knows that, before this administration should be transparent and accessible, while being responsible, noting that dealing with human relations is an art, and this undoubtedly is one of many tasks, and perhaps most difficult of a manager atualidade.É interesting also that students and parents watch the movie once it was inspired by real events , ie, many situations in the story narrated occur daily in our schools.
The film was directed by John G. Avildson, the same as Karate Kid and Rocky, two blockbusters. Morgam Freeman, is always competent and charismatic star of the film, giving truth to the character. Lean on me is the film's original title, but is also the name of a gospel song that is sung in one scene, which shows much of the religious appeal in this film, as if director Clark had been sent by God to save everyone.

O Carteiro e o Poeta (Il Postino/The Postman)

O belo filme italiano "O Carteiro e Poeta" retrata a amizade entre o carismático Mário, um homem simples e o poeta chileno Pablo Neruda que se encontra exilado em uma região a beira-mar onde vive o carteiro. Acredito que um dos pontos fortes da história é quando Mário pergunta a Neruda: Como ser um poeta? Como se faz poesia? A poesia é uma arte, talvez a mais simples e acessível delas, pois qualquer pessoa pode fazer. Após assistir essa bela película cheguei a conclusão que não existe uma resposta única para essas questões. No diálogo entre os personagens isso é discutido. Algo fundamental é a observação, abrir o coração e se despir de preconceitos, se permitir ver a tudo e a todos de forma verdadeira, quando isso acontece a inspiração é inevitável. É necessário também conhecer o objeto de sua inspiração, não é possível inventar algo do nada. Em uma poesia mais importante do que a intenção é o ritmo, pois ela é de propriedade pública, o poeta quando escreve não pensa em quantas pessoas conseguirá sensibilizar com sua arte, mas com certeza conseguirá mexer com os sentimentos de quem estiver com com coração aberto para recebê-la, pois ela simplesmente acontece, não pode ser programada, é como nossas vidas: imprevisível, mas fascinante.

É uma ótima oportunidade que o professor tem de introduzir os alunos no mundo da poesia apresentando a eles nossos grandes poetas como Carlos Drumond de Andrade, Mário, Vinicius de Moraes, entre outros, incentivando debates e também incentivar para que escrevam suas próprias poesias e posteriormente leiam para os colegas de classe, exercitando assim além da gramática, a oratória.

Entre as 5 indicações ao Oscar destaque para a indicação póstuma de melhor ator para Massimo Troisi, que faleceu logo após o final das filmagens.

The beautiful Italian movie "The Postman Poet and portrays the friendship between the charismatic Mario, a simple man and the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda who is exiled in a region where the seashore live the postman. I think one of the strengths of the story is when Mario asks Neruda: How to be a poet? How is poetry? Poetry is an art, perhaps the simplest and most accessible of them, because anyone can do. After watching this beautiful film came to the conclusion that there is no single answer to these questions. In the dialogue between characters that is discussed. Something fundamental is the observation, open your heart and undressing of prejudice, be allowed to see everyone and everything so real, it happens when inspiration is inevitable. You must also know the object of his inspiration, you can not invent something from nothing. In a poem more important than the intent is the rhythm, because it is publicly owned, when the poet writes not think of how many people get touched by his art, but certainly able to tinker with the feelings of anyone with with an open heart to receive it because it just happens, can not be programmed, as is our life: unpredictable but fascinating.

It's an excellent chance that the teacher must introduce students to the world of poetry by presenting them with our great poets Carlos Drummond de Andrade, Mario, Vinicius de Moraes, among others, encouraging debate and also encouraged to write their own poetry and later read to their classmates, thus exercising beyond grammar, oratory.

O Triunfo (The Ron Clark Story)

Baseado em fatos reais "O Triunfo" conta a história do otimista Ron Clark, um professor norte-americano que em busca de novos desafios muda-se para Nova York e acaba lecionando em uma escola no bairro do Harlem. Seus alunos são considerados desajustados, a turma é totalmente menosprezada por todos. Com bom humor e muito empenho Ron não desiste dos seus alunos, impõe regras que não são seguidas pela turma, segundo ele todos na sala formam uma família e devem se respeitar e proteger. Demonstrando muita sensibilidade ele confia no potencial de seus alunos, chegando ao ponto de se interessar em conhecer a realidade em que estão inseridos. Certa vez uma professora da graduação me disse que o indivíduo é reflexo da sociedade, e o aluno é reflexo do professor, após assistir a este filme compreendi o que ela pretendia me dizer.
Para quem se interessar Ron Clark lançou um livro chamado "A arte de educar criancas", muitos acontecimentos relatados no livro também foram narrados em "O Triunfo", filme originalmente feito para a TV e que foi estrelado por Matthew Perry (O Chandler da famosa série "Friends"), e que por sua atuação recebeu uma indicação ao Globo de Ouro de Melhor Ator em Mini-série/Filme para TV.
