The episode is a backdrop for the movie script was a little over 20 years, is historically short time, but society has a short memory, I believe is the duty of education to inform students of such facts, example of consistently exposing the differences between socialist and capitalist systems, and other subjects that deal with this period, and this movie is a great opportunity to create discussions about the subject. Unfortunately the place where there was the Berlin Wall or the Wall of Shame as I prefer to call it today is just a tourist attraction, and pieces of it are sold to collectors around the world.
"Goodbye, Lenin!" Was directed by Wolfgang Becker, and has cast Daniel Brühl (The Bourne Ultimatum) and Katrin Sab. Another German film that discusses the subject is the excellent "Edukators" directed by Hans Weingartner (with great cast Daniel Brühl), questioning the values and displays the wish that youth have for change.
